Hello, I'm April - an Advanced Acne Specialist and Functional Skin Practitioner, proudly recognised as one of the UK's Top 4 Skin Specialists.
My passion for skin health began with my own journey. After struggling with acne throughout my teens and into my early twenties, I experienced first-hand the emotional and physical impact persistent skin concerns can have. Like many of my clients, I spent years trying products and treatments that only ever addressed the surface - never what was actually causing my skin to react in the first place. That experience is what pushed me to look deeper, and it's what inspired me to build the kind of clinic I wish I'd had access to: one where skin is genuinely understood, not just treated.
Today, I am the proud founder of AB Skin Clinic in South Wales, where I specialise in advanced, results-driven skin treatments - and increasingly, in looking beyond the skin itself to understand what's really driving a client's concerns.
A Root-Cause Philosophy
With over six years of specialist experience, I offer a carefully curated selection of advanced, evidence-based treatments tailored to each client's individual skin concerns. But my real focus, and where my expertise is heading - is a functional, 360° approach to skin health: understanding how hormonal imbalances, nervous system dysregulation, gut health and daily habits show up on the skin. Because in my experience, skin rarely misbehaves in isolation - it's usually telling you something about what's happening underneath.
I am committed to staying at the forefront of both skincare science and functional health, and I continually invest in advanced education and training to bring that thinking into everything I offer.
Training & Development
My professional development includes extensive training with IMAGE Skincare and Bristol Beauty Aesthetics with Klaire Reed, alongside numerous advanced courses throughout the UK and internationally. In 2022, I travelled to Toronto, Canada, to train with internationally recognised educator Dariana Garcia at Bare Studios, expanding my expertise in advanced skin treatments and techniques.
In 2026, I became a Certified Advanced Acne Specialist after completing the UK's only CPD-accredited Advanced Acne Specialist programme - deepening my ability to treat even the most complex acne cases through a holistic, root-cause approach using clinically proven methods.
My dedication to delivering exceptional results has been recognised nationally. AB Skin Clinic was proudly ranked 4th Best Skincare Specialist in the UK in 2024, and our client skin transformations were selected as finalists at the prestigious IMAGE Skincare Awards in both 2024 and 2026.
My Approach
I focus on what I do best: advanced, results-driven skincare built on understanding the whole picture, not just the surface. Education is central to my practice — I guide my clients with the advice I wish I'd received years ago, helping them make smart, strategic decisions about their skin rather than chasing quick fixes that don't last.
Having personally battled acne for over a decade, I understand how overwhelming and disheartening it can feel when nothing seems to work — and how much of that comes down to treating symptoms without ever asking why they're there. That journey shaped not only my career but the way I care for every client who walks through my door.
I believe everyone deserves to feel confident in their skin. My goal isn't simply to improve your complexion - it's to help you understand it, and to give you the knowledge, treatments and support to achieve real, long-term skin health from the inside out.
